![]() AEC revenue grew 22% and manufacturing revenue grew 16%, M&E revenue grew 17%. Looking at revenue by product, the growth we saw was broad-based. Total revenue growth in the quarter accelerated to 18% and 17% in constant currency with subscription revenue growing by 21%. Several factors contributed to that, including robust growth in new product subscriptions, rapidly expanding digital sales and increasing subscription renewal rates. As Andrew said, our third quarter results were strong. I'll then come back to provide an update on our strategic growth initiatives.ĭebbie Clifford - Chief Financial Officer Now let me turn the call over to Debbie to take you through the details of our quarterly financial performance and guidance for the year. In the third quarter, we began to align our debt holders by issuing our first sustainability bond linked to our sustainability goals. Many of our largest equity holders already aligned to our sustainability goals. This organizing principle affects not just how we deploy capital, for example, through our investments to develop sustainable tools and our recent acquisition of Innovyze, but also how we source capital. This cannot be achieved efficiently or effectively without end-to-end software like ours to drive the process. Sustainability needs to be designed, made and, in many cases, retrofitted in construction and manufacturing. The recent report from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change and the United Nations Climate Change COP26 meeting in Glasgow, both underscore the urgency of reducing carbon in earth's atmosphere and the role that everyone, including corporations needs to play. Notable milestones during the quarter included the launch of our Flex consumption model and our plans to combine technologies, connect processes, automate workflows, and unlock valuable insights for customers through our Forge platform. Our end-to-end solutions, business model flexibility and platform position us well competitively and enable more customers to enter and remain in our ecosystem.Īs you heard at our recent Investor Day at Autodesk University, we are rapidly innovating and optimizing our business to increase and realize the opportunity ahead. We're encouraged that embracing digital transformation to drive efficiency and sustainability remains a priority for our customers. Our conversation with customers and channel partners reinforces our view. While demand is robust, we believe supply chain disruption and resulting inflationary pressures, a global labor shortage, making it harder for our customers to staff new projects and the ebb and flow of COVID are contributing to the deceleration, as well as documented country-specific disruption to AEC in China. Relative to the first and second quarters, the rate of improvement decelerated during the third quarter more than we expected. We also grew RPO and billings 18% and 16%, respectively, despite a tougher compare versus last year. Our third quarter results were strong driven by one of our best ever quarters for new subscriptions, record subscription renewal rates, a net revenue retention rate toward the high end of our range and a solid competitive performance. ![]() Too rich for who? Y'all just got rich again Furthermore, Drake is mayyyybe also referencing Ye's "I Thought About Killing You," though that admittedly could be a stretch: The "Too rich for who?" may allude to the Ye cut "No Mistakes," which includes lines from West about someone he was "too rich" to fight. "8 Out of 10" sees Drake going a bit more vague with the possible West criticism. Goodhearted people are taking it to extremes Later, Drake-possibly in a nod to West's fraught relationship with former "Big Brother" JAY-Z-laments the break-up of "iconic duos":Ĭan't even keep track of who plays for the other team Their actions out of character, even when they rehearse The people I look up to are going from bad to worse Meetin' all my heroes, like seein' how magic works I can't even capture the feeling I had at first Given West's embrace of the MAGA puke lifestyle, it's not hard to imagine this being about him: Earlier in the track, he speaks of meeting his heroes, only to later watch them go from "bad to worse" with uncharacteristic behavior. Over on the A Side of the 25-track experience, Drake uses the second verse of "Emotionless" to confirm-as King Push alleged in "Story of Adidon"-that he does indeed have a child. With all that's come to pass in the 6 God multiverse recently, it's not hard to find lines on the new album that may be indirect references to Drake's current thoughts on the guy who once graciously gifted him with "Find Your Love." But as we all know now, there's exactly zero West on Scorpion. ![]() Not even amid West's perplexing post-Trump prolificness. After all, despite that whole Pusha-T thing, a new Drake and Kanye West collab still didn't feel like it was entirely out of the question, especially considering Drake's recently confirmed Ye writing credit. I'm certainly not the only person who fell asleep last night with a fairly confident hunch that I'd be waking up to word that Kanye West had contributed to Drake's double-album Scorpion. ![]() It drops a couple of F-bombs before I even reach the main menu. It’s the first and only M-rated EA Sports game released to date, and it starts with a bare-knuckle prison brawl against a skinhead. A sport with a storyīefore FIFA’s The Journey, or the Longshot story told across a series of Madden games, Fight Night Champion introduced a cinematic story-based campaign to a sports game - one written by Will Rokos, the Hollywood screenwriter behind Monster’s Ball. That story is a tangibly powerful force for the game, even before we discuss the mechanical brilliance of its presentation and take on boxing. He doesn’t have to apologize for existing anymore. He unleashes himself, and grins, and screams his greatness and joy to the world. So, when Andre Bishop sinks his fist into another Nazi face, or gets the championship belt he earned against every odd and disadvantage, I feel a sense of freedom myself. Watching the bulging vein on his temple, I moved accordingly. The entire time, I calculated how many rounds I could win and still walk out of the building safely. I ended up playing a tactical board game with one at the local board game shop. When I lived overseas, I slowly discovered that the town my family had moved to was filled with neo-Nazis. When I’m in cars that are pulled over, I make sure my hands are always in sight. A black man running down the street inspires questions, if not gunshots. It’s hard to describe how much of my life feels actively dangerous. I didn’t find the crunch of restrained pain and force of will that crossed his digital face until I recognized how often it had crossed my own. He’s attacked for his talent, his race, his commitments sometimes, he’s attacked for the bare fact that he exists. Andre faces a barrage of indignities throughout the campaign. However, the further I progressed, the more I realized that what I initially took to be a nature of calm was in fact a constant practice of self control. Emphasis on “seems.” Image: EA Canada/Electronic Arts When your very existence feels like a threatĪndre Bishop seems to be a quiet guy. I also found a kindred spirit in Andre Bishop himself. There hasn’t been a Fight Night release in over eight years, and somehow, I still see a contender. And Fight Night Champion, graphically and mechanically, holds up really damn well. The game is backward compatible on Xbox One, extending the series’ lifetime into the next console generation due to Microsoft’s focus on creating a single, contiguous library of games for its users. Yet nearly two thousand people are still using the Fight Night Champion servers when I log in on a random Thursday afternoon. Then EA signed a deal with UFC one year after Fight Night Champion’s release, transitioned the entire EA Canada team to develop UFC games, and extinguished the last unlicensed EA Sports series. It was built on a messy web of individually negotiated contracts that often meant popular boxers were dropped from each game’s roster for various reasons. EA Canada/Electronic Artsįight Night, as a franchise, should be dead. I extended myself too far and won nothing for my efforts, which isn’t a bad metaphor for the series itself. The punch he sends into my chest drops my stamina-poor fighter to the mat. But then one of my power punches leaves me open. ![]() I deconstruct my opponent with body shots and side steps, throwing off his balance every time he tries to rush inside. ![]() It can be a shockingly violent game, even given the subject matter. As mentioned above, Apple is interested as well. Stitcher, which SiriusXM recently agreed to acquire, is also in the premium podcast business. The competition is just getting startedĪmazon isn't the only company competing for exclusive premium podcasts and audio content. It's generated just 6 million euros in free cash flow through the first six months of 2020 compared to 223 million euros during the same period in 2019. ![]() Spotify has historically operated around breakeven operating income, and its free cash flow is under pressure as it spends big on podcast companies and deals with the impact of COVID-19. But if the Cupertino company pursues that strategy further with more podcast or narrative content, it also has plenty of cash to bid against Spotify for top creators. While the market for podcasts isn't as concentrated in the hands of a few big companies as the film and television market, the added competition will likely push prices higher.Īpple has also expressed interest in podcast content, mostly around its own Apple TV+ original series. Investors should consider how Netflix saw the rates for licensed content climb rapidly in the early 2010s as more competitors entered the streaming video market, including Amazon. If Spotify has to go up against other bidders for podcast content, that number could climb much higher. Over the last couple of years, Spotify's spent around $1 billion on podcast technology, original content, and exclusive rights. Spotify's already spending big on podcasts And with Amazon's existing presence in music streaming and advertising, it could be just a few steps away from launching an audio platform more like Spotify's. Audible Plus represents a major competitor for Spotify in terms of content acquisition. The main point here is no matter what hitch mounted truck crane you purchase, it’s very important to know the lifting capacity limits of the crane, the weight of the objects you’re lifting, and to follow the manufacturer’s directions. Making a lift like this can not only damage the crane itself, but it can stress and damage the hitch on your vehicle. Not to mention the support leg in the photo is not down to help support the load. In fact, they claim the average PWC weighs about 850 pounds. I did a little research and according to the “ Steven In Sales” personal watercraft (PWC) website, the two lightest PWC’s currently made weigh in at about 300 and 400 pounds. As shown above, in the extended position this crane’s rating is 250 pounds. Just by looking at the pictures in this ad, I can tell it is in the extended position. Let’s make sure you’re making purchasing decisions based on good information. Don’t take me wrong, I love my lift, but it does have its limits. If you click on this link to the XtremepowerUS hitch mounted crane similar to mine, on Amazon, don’t let the images of it lifting the personal watercraft (PWC) deceive you. These commissions help support our website so we can continue to produce articles like this. Therefore I am required to let you know that if you click on one of these links and make a purchase I could make a small commission at no extra cost to you. My hope is to give you enough information to help you select a truck crane that will work for you and any specific lifting needs you may have.Īlthough this is not an official product review of my crane, I will be discussing it and providing an affiliate link to it and a few other products in this article. In this article, I am going to go over some of the features of my truck crane and point out some of the things I like about it and a couple of the things I don’t like about it. You can easily load things in your truck, take them where they’re needed, and unload them all by yourself. Hitch mounted cranes are particularly useful when you have nobody around to help you. ![]() Why run the risk of hurting yourself by lifting something too heavy when there is a tool made to help in these situations. It’s great for lifting heavy items and setting them in and out of the back of your pickup truck. One of the best investments I have made to help do this is to buy a hitch mounted truck crane. ![]() As I’ve gotten older I have done my best to adopt the idea of “working smarter, not harder”. Hardcore players are likely going to find what they want here, or at least some semblance of it. It's fairly easy to get a quick grasp on what each member of the cast does, what ranges they best fight at, and what tricks they have at their disposal. ![]() The movesets are fairly straightforward this is a four-button fighter, and the hardest part was remembering the various button combinations to do attacks like the disarming Weapon Flipping technique. ![]() Newcomers like Darli Dagger add interesting new concepts, like her charging hammer attack, which leaves you vulnerable but does incredible damage if you land it. Most of the main cast fans would expect from previous games are here, with mainstays like Nakoruru, Haohmaru, Galford, and Charlotte all making appearances. It's a very fine line that Samurai Shodown walks well, and even if it isn't your preference in a fighting game, it merits appreciation. Rounds can last the full timer (extra, due to a Rage Explosion stalling the timer) or be over in seconds. It's a delicate balance between careful, methodical play and precarious gambles. Moves like this emphasize the core of Samurai Shodown: risk vs. The Lightning Blade is a hype moment in any match. If it lands, you get a Kurosawa-esque fade to black and pose, dealing massive damage based on how much Rage you spent. You can also use Lightning Blade in this form, sacrificing your Rage meter for the entire match on one attack. The Rage meter is still around, and you can sacrifice it for a Rage Explosion, which doubles your attack power while slowly consuming the meter you've built up. There are a few mechanics to help you find those much-needed comebacks. There aren't too many combo strings to memorize rather, it's about getting into the mind of your opponent and playing the neutral game well. You have to fight the urge to just spam moves, instead carefully watching and biding time, hunting for an opening. The dance back and forth, especially when fighters are at low health, feels tense. If that's something you're looking for though, Samurai Shodown delivers an experience that feels unique in the realm of fighting games. Basically, this is a game that demands accuracy and precision, so it's not exactly going to be a comfortable pace for every player. This could easily be personal preference, but some moves have extra-long wind-ups and recoveries, which is especially punishing if you input something by accident. While the big hits are definitely big in Samurai Shodown, some moves and responses feel just a hair more sluggish than I like. Due to this, playing Samurai Shodown feels a little more deliberate and sluggish than other fighting games, by design-it's really satisfying to block or dodge an enemy's strike, return in kind with a heavy slash, and watch their life disappear in an instant. A whiffed slash could easily mean a third of your lifebar, and while you have dashes and jumps, the walk speed is fairly slow. Samurai Shodown is all about the big hits. Everyone wields a weapon of some kind, though you can also fight unarmed, by choice or force of your opponent's moves. ![]() It has a world warrior feel to it, as you can play as many different weapon-based fighters from around the world, from samurai and knights to ninja assassins and Tam-Tam, who goes beyond explanation. If you're unfamiliar with Samurai Shodown, it's a fighting game set mostly in 18th century Japan. But where it excels in capturing the samurai spirit, the slim offering of content outside Versus mode makes this a less appealing pitch to those who aren't already heavily invested in playing a new Samurai Shodown. The first new SamSho on consoles in a decade, the weapon-based 2D fighter returns with a deliberate weight and heft to every hit. Samurai Shodown is a reboot of sorts, beyond just name alone. ![]() Automated language detectionĪBBYY FineReader supports the highest number of OCR languages on the market. With FineReader, you can edit any scanned PDF as easily as you could work with a digital version. You know, the environment is one of the biggest questions I get – or one of the biggest problems. Justin: Yeah, I think you brought up two good points already. I see a lot of complaints on different manufacturers websites, “Well, gee, I did this.” Or they’re using something like Timeless on a photo print with a gloss surface and I saw that comment, actually, on your website. So, I’ll include those in the show notes, and again if you’re using any product for the first time, always test it on small prints first. However, I do notice on your website, in one of the prior blog posts, that there is a reference to a canvas print corner fold test to check and see whether the canvas print is dry, so we can include those in the show notes, and there’s also a downloadable PDF on the Breathing Color website on canvas printmaking and varnishing, I think it’s something like “How to be a Varnish Master” – and there’s a lot of really helpful videos on coating. There seems to be a general consensus for a lot of products that are similar to Timeless that six hours to be absolutely sure the canvas is dry. Now I’ve, you know, combed the internet for years looking at different products. So therefor the drying times are much, much faster – it can be dry in maybe an hour, maybe take a few hours, again depending on your environment. Now, when we look at Timeless, one of the advantages of that product is you don’t need to dilute it. And again, the prints may need more drying time, both before and after coating if you’re in a particularly humid environment, and in that case it may need even more than 24 hours to dry, so you have to plan that into your workflow.Īnd again it’s best to always work in a temperate-controlled environment, and you may need a humidifier or a dehumidifier. So therefor you’re going to need at least another 24 hours after you coat before you do the stretching. And any product that needs diluting is therefor going to remoisten your print. So with your original varnish product, Glamour, that needs to be diluted with water because of the leveling agents in there. They have crazy-confusing name like lacquer, and shellac, and varnish, aerosol spray, solvent, aqueous-based, and we have different application methods from your foam rollers to the HVLP spray gun, so I’m gonna answer the questions for Breathing Color products, but it’s gonna be best if you’re using a different product to contact technical support for that product, because I can’t answer for every product. Now with that said, in our products, as you know Justin, in the market today. Because there’s all these claims that, “Oh, this is an instant-drying type of canvas.” But that’s not what we’re doing here because those don’t require coating. Not the newer types of canvas like Crystalline that are going to use photo black ink that don’t require coating, and I know there’s quite a bit of confusion about it – I get that from printing students. So, I have a little caveat here, and I’m going to address canvas prints with matte surfaces such as Breathing Color’s Lyve that use matte black ink. So this is really a follow-up question to my prior podcast, which covered drying times before coating canvas prints, where I had mentioned there was a standard 24 hour rule to let the prints outgas and dry after printing before you coat them.Īnd again that’s particularly important for your substrates such as canvas or matte papers, and canvas does have a heavy ink load. ![]() And the short answer to this is, it’s going to depend on specifically what type of product you’re using to coat your canvas prints, as well as the environment in which you work, the temperature in particular, and the relative humidity. Renée: Okay, for answering these three questions today, I’m gonna start by giving a short answer, and then I’ll follow up with some details. ![]() And if you don’t mind, I’m gonna jump right into the listener questions.Īnnouncer 2: Mike from asks, “How much time is recommended after coating or varnishing a print before moving on to stretching?” ![]() Hey, thanks for taking the time out to join us here today, I really enjoyed having you on the last show so I appreciate you coming back.
